Glam Rock Revival Rocks Torquay

sladeDrag out the flares, brush down your platforms, don your glitter wig and let’s get ready to party with legendary bands from the 70’s.

My Glitterballs Promotions, the creation of self-confessed Glam Rock fanatic John Ross, brings three unmissable iconic bands to Torbay.

Sponsored by Palm FM, the fun kicks off with the amazing foot-stomping Slade at the Torquay Riviera International Conference Centre on Saturday 14th August. The line-up includes the original band members Dave Hill and Don Powell for an unbelievable 8 hour extravaganza supported by Heroes and the Ziggiz and the legendary RST 70’s Roadshow Disco.

John Ross, Director My Glitterballs Promotions says: “There are a lot of excellent tribute bands on the circuit; however we are bringing the original line-ups from the 70’s and 80’s that are still going strong and popular as ever.

It was such a fabulous time of our lives and everyone, including the kids of today, know all the words to Slade songs and Christmas parties just wouldn’t go with a swing without THAT Christmas single!”

To avoid disappointment make sure you book early for the Glitterballs Christmas Glam Rock Party of the year – ticket price is inclusive of food!

jimmyDue to popular demand, Jimmy Carr has added another Plymouth date to his ‘Rapier Wit’ tour. The comedy genius will now perform on Saturday 3 July at Plymouth Pavilions in addition to his performance on Friday 30 July.

A heady mix of artistic integrity, loyalty and avarice has put Jimmy back on the road.

A ‘rapier’ is the long sword of a gentleman.

‘Rapier wit’ is defined as clever, quick, intelligent humour.

Please note, Jimmy Carr doesn’t have ‘the long sword of a gentleman’ and even if you like him, ‘clever, quick and intelligent’ is a bit of a stretch.

Crowded House Live @ Plymouth Pavilions

crowdedCrowded House are returning this year for a nationwide tour, heading to Plymouth Pavilions on Thursday 3 June 2010 as part of a 9 date tour of the UK.

The seeds of Crowded House were sewn in 1977 when, at the age of 19, Neil Finn joined his elder brother Tim’s band Split Enz as singer/guitarist. They toured the globe with hits penned by Neil such as ‘Message To My Girl’, ‘One Step Ahead’ and ‘History Never Repeats’.

Freshly inspired Crowded House began work on their new album last year at Roundhead Studios in Auckland with Jim Scott as producer.

With fresh promise and the bit well and truly between their teeth, Crowded House are sure to prove that they are as much a force to be reckoned with now than they ever have been when they return to tour the UK this summer.

Clear your throats Ladies and Gentlemen and get ready to sing along, The Crowdies are back!
