Spectrum Music Presents a Charity Concert in aid of Help For Heroes

April 8, 2010

specIn celebration of Musical Director Tim Porter’s 10th Anniversary with the band. Sponsored by Vincent & Co Accountants.

Saturday 5 June 2010, 7:30pm, Palace Avenue Theatre

Spectrum Music is a Devon based Concert Wind Band. We play a wide selection of music from Films, Musicals, Popular Song and standard Wind Band concert favourites. We perform regularly on bandstands and in concert halls throughout Devon and beyond.

This year marks the 10 years of conducting the band for Musical Director, Tim Porter. Tim, a former principal clarinettist with the Parachute Regiment Band and the staff band at RMA Sandhurst, is also a classically trained pianist, composer and arranger. He has shown exceptional loyalty and commitment to the band for 10 years, supporting the progress of individual players and striving to achieve the best from the band. The band is delighted to be celebrating this milestone with Tim.

The concert at The Palace Avenue Theatre, Paignton on June 5th 2010 will include a selection of our favourite arrangements from films and musicals, with a ‘Last Night of the Proms’ style finale including pieces such as Jerusalem and British Sea Songs. Proceeds from the concert will be donated to Tim’s chosen charity, Help For Heroes, who raise money to support members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in recent service.

More information about the band can be found at www.spectrumconcertband.co.uk
Tickets can be purchased at the Palace Avenue Theatre box office on 01803 665800.
This event is sponsored by Vincent & Co Accountants.
