The Quails Live at The Riviera International Centre

April 8, 2010

quailsOn Saturday 8th May Devon Indie Rock band The Quails are holding their album launch show at The International Riviera Centre in Torquay. Supported by three fantastic bands, the evening promises to be a very special event for Torbay.

Currently making waves on the National Music Scene, The Quails are the latest big musical export from the South West. The four-piece released their first album in 2009 and supported Muse, Motorhead and The Kooks among others. In March they played The Altitude Festival in Meribel with Newton Faulkner and will be playing at numerous festivals including Reading, Beach Break Live, South Devon Festival, Chagstock, Dartmouth, Ivy Live and Volksfest later this year.

The second album entitled Master of Imperfection combines a darker, more sophisticated sound with the quirky, catchy tunes of the first album I’ve Heard It’s All Rumours. Recorded at the wonderfully atmospheric Sawmills studios on the River Fowey in Cornwall it is produced by Simon Honywill who is the head of department for sound for The Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury and who describes the album as “absolute dynamite.”

The Quails first single called Argentina will be available soon for download and will be released on the 3rd of May. After their perform ance at the International Riviera Centre The Quails will be embarking on a two week National tour going as far as Glasgow and back.

Don’t miss out on a night to remember, four fantastic bands for just £10. Tickets available from The IRC box office, on-line from www.myspace.com/thequailsband and from Teign Music in Teignmouth. The event is sponsored by Studio 5 photography, Palm FM and Teign Music.
