Following on from the success of his last tour Different Class brilliant Irish comedy star, Ed Byrne, is back on the road with his new show Crowd Pleaser at Plymouth Pavilions on Wednesday 9 November 2011. Being a nerd, owning a cat, meeting your heroes or becoming a dad, whatever Ed casts his curmudgeonly comic eye over the end result is a show that’s sure to please even the most discerning of crowds.

Ably supported by fellow Irish funny man Karl Spain this promises to be an hilarious night you won’t want to miss.

Ed has been very busy since he last was on tour. His many TV appearances over the last couple of years have included hosting BBC 1’s Live At The Apollo and being a regular panellist on BBC 2’s Mock the Week and Have I Got News for You as well as various other new comedy shows including Miranda Harts Christmas Unwrapped and has recently been see “roasting” Davina McCall for Channel 4. A particular highlight for Ed was taking part in Celebrity Mastermind. Ed is also a regular contributor to comedy and music shows on both BBC Radio 2 and 4.   Last year he toured Canada and New Zealand with his sell out show Different Class.

Vans and Volunteer Drivers Needed!!!

Torbay Council, Tor2 and Rowcroft Hospice are delighted to be working together to offer the householders of Torbay a quick and easy way to dispose of their Christmas trees! By simply donating a minimum of £5 to the hospice, trees will be collected on Saturday 7th or Sunday 8th January 2012. TQ1 to TQ5 postcodes only. No mess, no fuss!

• Are you a ‘man and a van’ (or lady!) who would be willing to support this project, on either or both days?
• Do you have a contact within a company which has van/s that could be utilised?
• We are also looking for willing volunteers to travel in the vans and collect the trees, can you help?? (a great way to get active after a
lovely indulgent crimbo!) Every single helper will receive breakfast, a full briefing, equipment and route maps and we will make sure vans are needle free when finished!

There are two fantastic events coming up at Newbarn Farm!

 There will be a 50 Clay Sporting shoot on the 27th November with a £ 100 top gun prize.

 Entry Fee per 50 Clays is £ 25.00 using your own cartridges (Fibre Wads Only). Cartridges available on the day at £ 5.50 per box of 25. You can come any time between 11am and 2pm to shoot.

 There will also be a ‘Have a Go’ stand for any one wanting a quick practice or to see if they like the sport. All abilities and ages are welcome to turn up for this. Cost £ 10.00 per person.

 Hopefully some refreshments will also be available too!

The Second is :-

 There will be a 40 Clay Fun shoot on the 26th December with all proceeds going to Help for Heroes.

Tickets are selling fast for the eagerly awaited return of Abbagirls at the Manor Pavilion Sidmouth on Friday 25th November at 7.30 p.m. Following their acclaimed first appearance at the theatre these international artistes are bringing their complete show to Sidmouth, Abbagirls – The Band features Kim Graham (Frida), Kellie Vallance (Agnetha) with top musicians Mark Dawson (Bjorn) and Ralph Raison (Benny). These multi talented musicians/vocalists have performed in prestigious venues including the London Paladium, MGM Grand, Las Vegas and the Hyundai Theatre, Ulsan, Korea. Abbagirls are the first Abba tribute act in the world to perform in Las Vegas and they have appeared in twenty countries worldwide. Christmas at Pennywell Farm

Picture the scene.

Christmas lights and trees in an authentic manger setting with all the live animals looking on, warm and dry in their winter home.

Rekindle the true spirit of Christmas and put the arrival of the baby Jesus at the heart of Christmas. Pennywell Farm will be transformed into a real winter wonderland in time for the Nativity plays in December.

Pennywell supplies the costumes and organises the whole direction, giving every child (and adult) the opportunity to dress up and star in the performance. They even manage to make sure the snow falls at the end of each performance.

There really is a host of heavenly angels and many shepherds watching their sheep. Lots of voices are needed for the singing of Little Donkey, While Shepherds Watched and Away in a Manger to name a few.

After the play, every child meets Santa in his grotto and receives a present. A Christmas film is showing in the Farmyard Theatre between performances and seasonal refreshments of warm mince pies and mulled wine for the adults, home made Christmas biscuits and squash for the children make the visit complete.

You can even meet Santa’s reindeer, Dancer and Prancer in the Pennywell Farmyard.
