When owlets attack…
A cute-looking snowy owlet at Paignton Zoo Environmental Park in Devon sidles up nonchalantly to a camera placed on the ground… and launches a vicious attack!
The air of studied innocence gives way to a bout of full-on violence as the owlet shows it has claws… and a beak!
The video, filmed by Paignton Zoo bird keeper Chaz Barr, has been released to coincide with International Owl Awareness Day on Tuesday 4th August.
Paignton Zoo has an owl trail and an activity booklet with fun facts and word searches being handed out today. Staff will also be encouraging people to visit the bird show today. The Zoo, a registered charity, is celebrating the Year of the Bird in 2015. For more information go to www.paigntonzoo.org.uk or ring 01803 697500.
