Devon is thriving with an incredible amount of diverse musical talent, and so Devon Unsigned, a mammoth day and night extravaganza of original home grown talent, has been organized to showcase some of the most creative musicians from our county, on May 3rd at the PLAY venue on Torquay’s prestigious harbour side. For people attending the event we offer them the chance to see what amazing music is being created on their doorstep. From Indie, Rock, Pop and Folk, to Alternative and Metal, we have an exciting line-up of singer songwriter soloists to big bands exploding with on stage dynamics and tracks that you may very well hear across the radio stations and music channels in the future.
For the musicians involved, the organisers of this event will be working extremely hard to make the showcase known to all those within the music industry who could potentially further their musical careers. We not only want to put a great show on, but the main principal behind Devon Unsigned is to help the bands and artistes involved. The showcase will run from 2pm on Sunday the 3rd of May until past 2am the following morning (Bank holiday Monday). It will begin with our sublime acoustic artists, out in the superb open terrace (weather permitting) before moving inside the fantastic PLAY venue for our electric sets. The event is being supported by Teign music and Mount the Curb, both of whom brings with them the experience to guarantee that the event is an unforgettably tremendous night for all who attend.
The line up is as followed: The Quails (Pop, Rock), Outf!t (Ska, Funk), Morph (Rock), Dolcet Tones (Pop, rock), Chasing Hollywood (Pop Punk), King Rat and the Desperados (Surf, Jam band), Kitty and the Lost Boys (Pop Punk), Vivid Sky (Rock), The Roots Union (Folk), Emily Howard (Folk Rock), Liz Lawrence (Acoustic Pop), Cole Stacey (Alternative), Siobhan McCrudden (Folk), Catherine and the Owl (Alternative) and Pete Winwood (Indie Pop Rock).
Before 11pm, Devon Unsigned is FREE ENTRY. We hope to see a great turn out by those who love new music and who will help us celebrate our local superstars in the making. And not only are we championing our up-and-coming stars of the future, but we are also proud to be doubling as a charity fundraiser event. The showcase will be supporting the Poppy appeal which supports all veterans of British wars who have courageously given their time, health and lives on behalf of our nation, and our safety.
