“Will you dine at mine for Rowcroft Hospice?”
That’s the question we want you to ask all your friends and family this October! Our brand new campaign, Dine at Mine, is a great opportunity to share food and friendship whilst raising money for Rowcroft. It’s a perfect way to treat your friends and colleagues without spending a fortune!
All you need to do is hold a dinner party on any date during October, and ask your guests for a donation towards the meal. This could be anything from £5 to £50 depending on your event – you can take the costs for the meal out of the donations if you want, and any profit comes to the hospice! How you decide on your meal is completely up to you – make it a simple bangers and mash supper, a ‘Potluck Party’ where everyone brings a dish, tapas night, barbeque, or pull out all the stops and have full silver service – the choice is yours! You can hold your dinner party at home, in a village hall, in the garden, or ask a local restaurant to get involved and donate their profits for a night!
We are delighted to have Simon Hulstone, Head Chef of The Elephant, Torquay, backing our first ever Dine at Mine. Simon, the only British chef to win gold at the World Chef Championships in France said, “I am delighted to be supporting Rowcroft Hospice’s new Dine at Mine campaign. Food is at the heart of everyone’s lives, and a dinner party is a wonderful way to enjoy the company of friends and family. Dine at Mine is a good excuse to have a fantastic night, and to raise money for this very worthy local cause.” Simon has kindly written a delicious menu for the Dine at Mine fundraising pack which can help you when planning your meal!
Simon has been joined in this campaign by Head Chefs Ben Kingdon, The Cary Arms (Babbacombe) and Mitch Tonks, The Seahorse (Dartmouth). Ben is also providing a delectable menu for our fundraising pack as is Mitch, and The Cary Arms will have a special ‘Rowcroft’ dish during October on sale of a trio of Gibbins sausages, mash and red onion gravy – a percentage of the sales of this dish will come to the hospice.
