Peppa Pig the star attraction at Exeter Racecourse’s Children’s Day
Children’s favourite Peppa Pig will be making a special appearance at Exeter Racecourse’s annual children’s day on Wednesday, April 4 when she’ll be appearing at intervals during an action packed day. Children can also enjoy a behind the scenes racecourse tour, question and answer sessions and autographs with some of Britain’s top jockeys, the chance to ride a mechanical horse and a children’s running race down the home straight. Also on the agenda are ferret racing, the quack pack will be appearing in the paddock and horse racing action will get underway at 2.30pm.
The day is sponsored by Finlake Holiday Park which is part of the nation-wide Halfryn group. Other support comes from the British Horseracing Standards and Education Trust, the British Racing School, Leonard Coombe Saddlers and Country Life and Burts Chips who will be giving every child who attends a free packet of crisps. The race day is widely regarded as one the Westcountry’s best days out in the Easter holidays and with children aged 17 and under gaining free entry, as well as a special two for £15 ticket offer for adults, a large crowd is expected.
General manager Alice Everitt said: “It’s one of our favourite day’s at Exeter and has grown in popularity over the years. It’s a great way for children to go behind the scenes on a raceday as well as enjoy all the other attractions. “Our special offer means its one of the best value for money days out there is and we’re pleased to have the Peppa Pig meet and greet as an added attraction, we’re sure a lot of people will come along and enjoy a great day at the races as well as all the additional entertainment.”
